Screen printing works like a giant stencil. It is the most common method for printing a custom t-shirt. You create your design and send it to your printing partner. They then burn it onto a screen, push ink through it, and onto your garment using a squeegee.
This process is great for large quantity orders and produces a long lasting, durable product.
This versatile technique allows for intricate designs with multiple colors, making it ideal for personalized shirts, limited-edition runs, or one-off creations. HTV offers a quicker turnaround. This process can be applied to fabric types that screen printing cannot, such as nylon, 100% polyester, and textured surfaces.
The vinyl layer can feel thicker on the shirt compared to screen printing, which might be less comfortable for some individuals.
DTF is similar to HTV in that DTF can be applied on a wide range of materials including, cotton, nylon, treated leather, polyester, 50/50 blends and more (light and dark fabrics). DTF is the better option for more intricate designs with many colors.
This process produces very bold, photo-like images and offers quick turnaround.
